This is what I call a proper pub. An authentic old world pub. (it slopes in about 3 directions) There was seating outside with a barby on the go, with families and friends enjoying the atmosphere and the sun. Inside you will meet Keith and Shiela who run this fine establishment, who are both friendly and very accomodating. The food is home cooked and all the better for that, try the local butchers bangers and mash. Delicious. The beer is well kept and the bar staff are friendly. We didn't realise but we had stumbled on music night which is usually on the last saturday in the month. Brilliant. Local musicians gather at the pub and sit around and play and sing and generally enjoy themselves. What a fantastic night we all had. Good beer, good food and a good sing along. What could be better. You certainly dont get this sort of pub in the city, here the beams are real and the walls aren't straight, the place has real character and such a homely feel to it.
Try it soon, but book a room somewhere near!
